Taunton Heritage Trust’s 2026 Resident Satisfaction Survey highlights exceptionally high levels of Resident satisfaction, with 91% of Residents satisfied overall and no respondents expressing dissatisfaction. The survey, completed by 43 Residents, demonstrates the positive impact of almshouse living in supporting independence, wellbeing and community connection. Notably, 98% of Residents said living in a Trust almshouse helps them remain independent for longer, while residents also reported feeling safe, supported and able to access their homes and communal facilities with ease.
Residents expressed strong satisfaction with the quality of their homes and the services they receive. Respondents praised the staff team, with 98% describing staff as approachable and helpful and 100% confident in their knowledge and ability to deal with enquiries. Satisfaction was also high for support services and community events. Repairs and maintenance performance received particularly positive feedback, with 100% of Residents who had repairs carried out during the year satisfied with the overall service.
The survey also highlighted the strong sense of community that almshouse living provides. Residents valued the well-maintained communal spaces, opportunities to socialise and the respectful, caring approach of the Trust. Reflecting this positive experience, 98% of residents said they would recommend Taunton Heritage Trust to a friend, reinforcing the Trust’s success in providing safe, affordable housing alongside a supportive community that helps residents remain connected and thrive.
