Trustees and Staff

The Taunton Heritage Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is registered with the Charity Commission (No: 1177162). The Trust is also registered with Homes England as a registered housing provider and a member organisation of the Almshouse Association.

The Trust is governed by a minimum of nine Trustees and the Trust’s Patron is the serving Mayor of Taunton.

The day to day responsibility for running the Trust and overseeing all its activities is delegated to the Chief Officer, who together with the rest of the Staff team, work on a part time basis.

The Trustees and Staff work together to improve the quality of life of people living within Taunton Deane area.

Ros Moreton - Chief Officer

Ros

Ros is the Chief Officer and she has overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Taunton Heritage Trust.

She worked at Somerset County Council for a number of years, working closely with various teams across the organisation, including Social Care and Education.

When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with family, walking and exploring the local countryside.

LAURA HARRISON - OFFICE MANAGER

Laura came to the Taunton Heritage Trust in November 2016. Prior to that she had a number of reception and administrative jobs, including working for a large corporate company.

Laura is responsible for looking after the office, providing administrative support to the Trust and colleagues. She is involved in the appointment of new Residents and assists Natalie with the grants scheme. She also enjoys getting involved in events for the Residents of the Trust.

In her spare time she enjoys going to concerts, spending time with her friends, shopping and walking her dog.

Ali Perrott - Resident Lead

Ali joined Taunton Heritage Trust in April 2013 and before this she was a Palliative Care Nurse for the NHS and a farmer’s wife. She lived on the Somerset Levels before moving to Taunton to become one of the Wardens at the Taunton Heritage Trust. Ali enjoys music festivals and walking her dog in the countryside.

Ali lives on site at Leycroft Close and carries out welfare care checks on the Residents across all sites.

Properties Manager - Steve Cavill

Steve started with The Trust in November 2022. As Properties Manager, Steve looks after the maintenance, servicing and Health and Safely compliance matters in The Trust’s buildings. He comes with extensive experience of property management in various roles in the private and not for profit sectors.

In his spare time Steve enjoys Cycling, the great outdoors and spending time with his family and his dogs.

Administrator & Resident Engagement

Natalie started with Taunton Heritage Trust in April 2023. She came to the Trust with a range of skills and knowledge from her previous roles including working as a care provider for the elderly. She has gained experience within various administration and customer service based roles including working as travel agent and flight attendant.

At the Trust Natalie is responsible for the grants scheme and assisting the Resident Lead with Resident visits. She also carries out admin and reception duties within the office along with maintaining and updating the Trust’s policies and procedures. She enjoys organising events for the Residents including the Summer trip, guest speaker events, Christmas events etc.

In her spare time Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, visiting the beach, seeing friends, and eating out at restaurants.
